Important Information Regarding Program Participation

 

While we take every precaution to ensure safety, this tour involves outdoor activities conducted in a natural environment; therefore, there may be unforeseen risks associated with factors such as weather conditions, terrain, and wildlife.

 

Please review the information below and ensure you understand and agree to it before booking.

By booking the program, you are deemed to have agreed to the terms outlined below.

Risks Associated with Outdoor Activities

 

As the tour takes place in a natural environment, it may involve the following risks:

・Falls or slipping

・Falling branches or toppled trees

・Rising water levels or sudden weather changes

・Encounters with wildlife

・Hypothermia or heatstroke

 

While guides take the utmost care to ensure safety, we ask that participants understand the inherent risks of the natural environment and strictly follow the guide's instructions at all times.

 

Participation may be refused if a participant engages in behavior deemed dangerous.

 

 

Decisions Regarding Tour Operation Based on Weather

 

The guide will decide whether the tour proceeds based on a comprehensive assessment of the day's weather and natural conditions.

 

The tour may be cancelled in the following situations:

 

・Weather warnings issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency

・Dangerous weather conditions such as strong winds, heavy rain, or lightning

・Rising river water levels or deteriorating trail/road conditions

・Any other situation where the guide determines that safety cannot be ensured

 

No cancellation fee will be charged if the tour is cancelled prior to the scheduled start time.

Regarding Health Status

 

Please be sure to inform us of the participant's health status and any pre-existing medical conditions when booking.

 

Participation in the tour may be refused in the following cases:

 

・The participant is unwell.

・The participant has medical restrictions regarding physical activity.

・The guide determines that the tour cannot be conducted safely.

 

If any change in physical condition is observed during the tour, the tour may be cancelled if deemed necessary.

Any medical expenses or transportation costs incurred in such cases will be the responsibility of the participant.

 

Regarding Wildlife

 

The tour area is inhabited by wildlife such as brown bears, Ezo deer, and foxes.

Wild animals are very sensitive creatures, and human behavior can potentially lead to dangerous situations.

 

Therefore, the following actions are prohibited:

・Approaching wildlife

・Feeding animals

・Making loud noises or sudden movements

 

To maintain a safe distance from wildlife,

please be sure to follow the guide's instructions.

Clothing and Equipment

 

Weather conditions outdoors can change suddenly. To ensure a safe and comfortable tour, we recommend the following gear:

 

・Waterproof jacket

・Clothing that allows for easy movement

・Non-slip footwear

・Hat

・Gloves (winter season)

 

Specific gear may be required depending on the tour.

Insurance

 

Upon check-in, tour participants are automatically covered by the following accident insurance:

 

・Death / Permanent Disability: Up to 20 million yen

・Hospitalization: 5,000 yen per day (for hospital stays of 5 days or more due to an accident)

・Outpatient treatment: 3,000 yen per day

 

Guides are also covered by liability insurance (bodily injury and property damage).

If you desire more extensive coverage, we recommend arranging your own insurance.

Photography

 

Photos taken during the tour may be used for promotional purposes, such as on our website or social media.

 

If you do not wish for your photos to be published, please inform the guide on the day of the tour.

 

Handling of Personal Information

Personal information provided at the time of booking will be used for the following purposes:

・Contacting participants

・Providing information such as tour details

・Sharing information with relevant authorities (police, fire department, etc.) in the event of an accident or a need for rescue

 

Cancellation Fees

 

Cancellations made for personal reasons are subject to the following fees:

 

Cancellation Fees

  Day of the tour: 100% of the guide fee

  Day before: 70% of the guide fee

  2 days before: 50% of the guide fee

 

Cancellations or Program Changes Due to Weather

 

No cancellation fee will be charged if the guide determines that the tour cannot proceed due to adverse weather or other conditions prior to the start of the tour.

 

As a general rule, no refunds will be issued for cancellations or program changes made after the tour has started.
